A might useful tool. Assuming you can read and you care. Which I can and I do.
Two posts I loved today from other librarians
Academic Library stories of 2008
Here is a wonderful little post that takes come exploring. And I just love how casually they ask you to take not of how many stories relate to issues around open access. As I have ranted before, access is more important than ownership. I am not sure anyone listens to me.
Bill of rights?
And this one is just plain wonderful. For the literate and such, anyway.

I just did a cursory look, and cannot confirm if I had indeed posted this item before....but I am not so lazy that I have not read these more than once. people who are just now freaking on food security and food resources and distribution have been in THE dark. just some history.
librarian at every table

There are many librarians who will put service at the top of their list of *librarianish* traits. I am one of those librarians. From reference to social advocate; we are here to help. Now, this was not always so, and that is all the better. Looking at the transition that libraries and librarians have made during their development is fascinating stuff. Even for no-librarians.
This is a librarian voice I love.
