I love training more than tinkering

I ended up a techie by default because I grew up in a techie household. And, truly, because I am a geek too. But even though I admit to total geekdom, what I love is researching and training. These two are the things that rock the tangent in my mind that is library world. annotated bibliographies, training hand outs, how-tos, walk throughs. They make me happy.
Like this morning with one of my clients. She is smart and really has a goal. And she has willingness to tackle a technical problem that is currently the obstacle to her goal. I love to do training sessions with people who understand that they will have to work through the frustration and irritation if they truly want to own a technically oriented tool. Whether it is a database, a blog, the entire computer, your email program - whatever. Those are tech tools that a little training (or sometimes a lot) will put into proper perspective so that the use of said gadgets becomes part of the desired, happy goal.
I would like to do more training - and I am almost back to volunteering at the library to get my fix!
