Categories, my internal lighthouse, handiwork

Posted: September 3rd, 2009 @ 12:37pm

I am almost at the point where I should develop a category section for my minor and inconsistent updates to this site. Almost. Categorization can be a time consuming [aka wasting] endeavor if not herded into a finite timeslot. I think it needs to be done because the inevitable swing of my lighthouse interests has come full circle and I am probably about to make another sweep around the phenomenological territories. I am sure that Merleau-Ponty would sigh at my abuse of the lighthouse analogy, but oh well.

I have put up 20 quarts of various kinds of pickles. My daughter is in pre-school. My mate is learning how not to be a stress monger and I am feeling professionally proficient and also underutilized and annoyed at the same time. This is what comes of having two or more part time positions. Oh well, those feelings are minimal in comparison to the benefits I derive from the non-schedule I maintain.

I am really ramping up my Spanish activities and I think that I will be conversationally capable in not too long. Very nice to finally get to this goal. German vocab is building, slowly. Fluency may forever esape my grasp, but persistence will pay off.

I am rapidly being forced into more functional PHP by Moodle work. Not a bad thing at all, just not a path I would have deliberately chosen. Then again, I don't deliberately choose a lot of things I become proficient with over time. In between scheduled language classes and my workload, I have yet to force a pattern on running my lynda.com tutorials. That should happen. I know it and my work knows it.

The dogs were terrified of the lightening and thunder yesterday evening and I have had good sleep for two unbelievably consecutive evenings.  That does not aid me in with coherency, but it certainly made the window of opportunity for writing this post.

Today I can the apple jelly and start in on the beets. I am also throwing my full weight at the content overhaul and additions for OSC and BBC. Finally and happily, I might add. So that is what I am off to do.
