slide scanner

or a project that needs finishing

Posted: April 8th, 2009 @ 5:17pm

I have an assortment of pending projects that I vowed I would make progress on during last year and this year. I have made a great deal of progress on some, actually completed one, and have a good view of what remains (opposed to what view i had before which was just a huge rumplestiltskin pile of hay).

On a few projects I fully expected to kill my scanner and add that to the detritus pile of electronic crap that I must repurpose or find some proper way to dispose of. Poisoned Chinese children appear everytime I think about where it will go...

Needless to say (but not callously?), I not only need teh scanner, bu tI am on the hunt for another scanner - a slide scanner! I have already killed a few of these with migration / archiving projects for faculty...and I am on the prowl for one more. After that, no more slide -conversion projects unless the point is to have a good plan BEFORE embarking on the conversion and archiving. I wonder if any of these archives will get used...and then I realize that they will becasue I am the one interested in them, and the owner of said slaides will just say "great!" and leave me to tinkering. Sometimes, "great" is not so good input.
